High quality, high fertility eggs from our overwintered, home produced breeding stock.
Every year we catch up a number of wild grey partridge cocks from local farms and estates. These birds are paired with our overwintered, captive bred hens to produce a proportion of next seasons breeding stock. Our aim is to hold breeding stock with at least 75% wild genetics.
We over winter future breeding stock in single sex groups in large grass runs before pairing in early spring. Pairs destined as egg producers are housed in traditional raised pair boxes to maximise hygiene, stockman efficiency and egg cleanliness. Breeding birds are feed a high quality breeder pellet with calcium and vitamin supplements administered in water supplied via a nipple drinker system.
Eggs are collected at least twice per day, washed and trayed up for storage.
We are happy to sell eggs in any quantity. For smaller orders we use polystyrene postage boxes which hold 12 or 24 eggs and we can send any number of eggs using a combination of these boxes. Delivery is via Royal Mail using their 24 hour Tracked service and the actual cost of delivery will be quoted on an order by order basis.
For larger numbers of eggs we will organise a courier or deliver in person depending on quantity and distance.
